ZsaZsa: An iceberg with a pussy

She looks very nice....NOT!In the ground long before I came about and overwhelmed by the antics of her successors, ZZ gets less space here.

Mom described a lonely, extremely wealthy, often-emotionally sterile childhood in which servants did the parenting, ZZ ruled supreme and Mom's stellar academic and sport performance were simply expected and not praised in any way. She many times said not once did an elder come to see her in a play or competition.

That's NOT reverence fodder.

ZZ was portrayed as a delicate beauty by Mom and Mutchie, but I ain't seein' it. Looks more like Ernest Borgnine in drag than a China doll. That jaw could crack a walnut on each side at once. It looks like Mutchie, also billed as a beauty all the way to her tardy tombstone, may have inherited some of the jaw line, much in contrast to Mom, who had more delicate features.

Looking rather sturdy, I bet she could have pulled the hell out of a plow. That's certainly an admirable quality, but I wouldn't have chosen her to model my "Delicate Beauty" line of evening gowns.

Neila and Dad around 1975This is the first example I know of the tendency of Mom's side of the family to live in alternate realities significantly at odds with the straight dope. That forlorn platform lives on and strong to this day, four generations later.

ZZ suddenly hit the dirt one day when Mom was quite young. Before her ticker flatlined, she admonished Mom to always take care of Mutchie, for she was such a "pitiful thing." That is the lone story about a specific action by ZZ I know of and Mom laid a similarly-worded deathbed demand upon Dad to look after the mess we call Neila.

People, don't do shit like that. Please. Just. Don't.

I wish I knew more about the person said to be my great-grandmother and erred terribly in not picking Mom's brain more and documenting the info as she wasted away in the last year (well, thirty years, really) of her life.
